I've been under Dr Boyle, rheumatologist for about a year, he is one of the most caring, knowledgeable consultants I've ever seen. He's honest, open and I always know he's genuinely interested in trying to make my conditions more manageable. He listens to me, and explains every part of my condition and treatment options.
I have quite a complicated issue with my spine as well, and although this is not his responsibility, he always asks how I'm managing, and is interested about treating the whole person, which is great as I've learnt so much from him as to what effects my psoriatic arthritis.
He makes me want to help myself as well, as I know he really cares about his patients, and ensuring they get the correct care they need. I've had to contact him between appointments as my condition is new to me and I'm still trying to manage it, nothing is too much trouble, and if he feels he needs to see you he will.
In my opinion he goes the extra mile for his patients, and is a credit to NHS Lothian.
"Because my rheumatologist cares, he makes me want to help myself"
