"My experience was excellent"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans

(as a service user),

I had my first ever CT 2wks ago I was very anxious about it but from the lovely support worker who took me through to get changed explaining what to do with clothes and what pieces of clothing that needed removed which I had no clue about so was very grateful (sorry I didn’t catch her name) Thankyou

I then moved through to get the scan Ian the radiographer was very reassuring explaining the process and the sensations I would experience due to the contrast being used Thankyou so much I had no clue what to expect he was so patient even given the difficulty getting the cannula in my arm and I myself was very tense .

A 2nd radiographer (again sorry I didn’t catch her name) came in and within seconds the cannula was in even with these difficulties the procedure was painless and over with in minutes.

I headed to get changed then off to recovery area for a few mins due to contrast and had cannula removed Thankyou to everyone involved it’s never nice going to hospital for tests or scans but my experience was excellent

Dear Anxiousmum,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind and thoughtful feedback. We’re truly delighted to hear that your first CT scan experience was a positive one, especially given how understandably anxious you felt beforehand.

It is certainly reassuring to know that our Healthcare Support Worker helped make the process clear and comfortable from the very beginning, and we’ll do our best to identify and pass on your thanks to her.

I am also especially pleased to hear that Ian and the rest of our radiography team were able to provide the reassurance, care, and professionalism needed to help you feel at ease during your scan. Your comments mean a great deal to them and to all of us.

We understand how stressful hospital visits can be, and it’s heartening to know that our team helped make this experience one which was little easier for you.

Thank you again for your kind words.

Wishing you all the very best,

Jules
