"Their support genuinely eased the pressure on me"

About: Community Mental Health Services / Dementia Outreach Team (DOT) Support at Home / Able Health Care Scotland

(as a relative),

My Mum’s health has deteriorated rapidly over the last few months. Leaving myself & family unable to cope with her care needs. As part of referral to Social Work we were also referred to the Dementia Outreach Team, Emma & Margaret.

I was struggling with the situation & as Mum’s power of attorney, was expected to deal with situation.  Both Emma & Margaret were a great support to myself & family. I had several conversations with them looking for advice & support which was readily given. Never had to chase either for a response. All calls returned as agreed.

Not an easy situation to deal with but their support & advice genuinely eased the pressure on me. Even after my Mum was placed in a Care Home there was still a genuine interest in how everyone was coping.

I will always be grateful for the support.
