About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Haematology

(as a carer),

I want to thank all staff at A&E at NDDH.

Reception was fab.

We swiftly went to see the magnificent Anna the triage nurse. She exuded strength and confidence I felt I could let go and put my husbands care safely in her hands, it was such a relief after such a fearful time.

Thank you.

We moved straight on to the glorious Adam and a room. He inspired confidence and his dry wit lightened the atmosphere, but at no time did we feel he was taking us or our situation lightly. He said he would get to the bottom of things and although we are not quite there yet, he moved things on hugely.

We moved to MAU where Sam/ Sammy/ Sami a newly qualified nurse was just brilliant. I am sure the rest were too but she stood out.

Thank you.

But the instigator of our visit to A&E was Pippa the haematology nurse. A thousand thanks. Your attention and care is above all expectation, you are a most brilliant health care professional, to know that you are on the case and contactable is a huge reassurance.

Thank you.

All in all, chief exec you should be really proud of you staff, they are amazing.

It is wonderful to hear how the teams in the hospital have pulled together and provided you with a service that you are fully confident with.

Pippa is an outstanding nurse who always has her patients at the front of everything she does and supports them all to a very high standard.

I will ensure that all of the team are aware of your kind feedback and will also send an email to the chief exec.

As my colleague Sophie has advised she will let her team know also.

Please do take care of yourself and as you have already mentioned always give the Haematology team when you need them.

It is great to hear that your experience within the hospital and across multiple teams has been so positive.

The MAU team work incredibly hard to provide their service, ensuring patients and families feel safe and cared for. As the Matron of MAU it is always lovely to have feedback about individual staff. Please be reassured that I will pass on your kind and delightful comments to Sami, who has only been with us since early summer. I am sure this will provide her with a big confidence boost.
