"Waiting for an appointment but no referral was made"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a relative),

1 year wait for appointment - on seeking support the referral was never made

My mum was to be referred for further management of a long term condition. At an appointment in August 2024 the plan was to refer her on for discussion re potential surgery.

On seeking advice recently it was established via the appointment line this was the plan last year but no referral had been made.

Staff member advised contacting the department directly -Gynaecology at Forth Valley Royal -  2 x calls made, messages left, no response.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about the gynaecology service. I apologise for the lack of response to your calls and that you were provided with inaccurate information about your mothers referral.

As previously discussed, I can confirm that this referral was made and your mother has been placed on a waiting list to be seen by one of the consultants.
