"Keep up the amazing work you do!"

About: Victoria Hospital / Radiology Victoria Hospital / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS)

(as a service user),

I was referred to this service by my GP due to weight loss and upper GI symptoms. The speed at which I was seen was incredible. I had an upper GI endoscopy within a couple of weeks and when that didn’t turn anything up I had an urgent CT scan followed by an ultrasound scan.

Everyone I met from the day case team to the radiographer and sonographer were all so kind and caring. All these investigations came through extremely quickly on the RCDS pathway.

The advanced nurse specialist Katie took complete ownership of my case and kept me informed at every step. She was very reassuring throughout and I had complete confidence in her management. I cannot say enough good things about this service.
Given the waiting times in other parts of the country for urgent possible cancer cases, you should be very proud of what you are achieving with the RCDS. It really is quite exceptional. Thank you and keep up the amazing work you do!
