I've had to contact different members of the Admin and Medical staff in the Neurology Department at Northampton General Hospital in the last year or so. This is because of the unusual nature of my erratic, somewhat annoying and confused medical history. It's got to a point where I feel a bit of a nuisance contacting them, although I hasten to add that under no circumstances has anyone within the department ever made me feel that way (except for maybe one health professional) the majority have been extremely helpful, thorough, patient and kind.
I would like to send a special compliment about Karen, the Multiple Sclerosis & Headache and Migraine Coordinator. I assume that in her job she has a very high workload and needs to be extremely organised. She definitely comes across as all these things, but I must also add she seems genuinely caring, thoughtful and personable. In all my dealings with Karen she he has been efficient and thorough in answering my queries super quick and confirms details efficiently. She is always kind and has never once been rude or caused me to feel awkward nor uncomfortable when I contact her, even though I annoy myself having to do so. I must say that in my opinion, Karen is a credit to her job and Northampton General Hospital. It would be lovely if more NHS staff were like her.
