"Long wait times"

About: Sandyford Clinic

(as a service user),

I just wanted to say thank you to Stephen and the chaperone (I'm so sorry, I forgot her name!) who fitted my mirena at Govanhill. It's my 5th coil and Stephen carried out the best insertion I've had and he was so lovely! Chaperone had great distraction chat!

Some general feedback on the Sandyford services is that wait times for contraceptive services are appalling. I was only getting a coil because the vasectomy wait-list is over 18months and even the coil appointment took 7 weeks of checking the booking system every day with a 40 mile radius. I'm Aberdeen and tayside vasectomy are practically walk-in and implant appointments book by phone, so I just can't understand why Glasgow and the Sandyford are failing so badly on this front.

Dear Catcargos

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent appointment at Govanhill. We're delighted to hear that Stephen and the chaperone provided such excellent care during your Mirena fitting, and we’ll make sure your kind words are passed on to them. It’s always encouraging to hear when staff make a real difference to someone’s experience.

We also appreciate your reflections on the challenges you’ve faced accessing contraceptive services. We understand how frustrating long wait times and limited appointment availability can be. Please be assured that your feedback has been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams at Sandyford to help inform ongoing service improvement work.

Thank you

Nicole
