"Human rights based approach to psychiatry"

About: St John's Hospital / Adult Mental Health Acute St John's Hospital / Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

Over the past 3 years I've been grateful for the progressive approaches of all staff in West Lothian health care teams, including those at St. John's hospital. We have used medication when approriate, and also other means of support, such as home visits. There is a noticeable respect for Realisic Medicine and human rights based approaches to care, with a focus on minimising coercive practice and appreciating the value of my advance statement.
