The facility and opportunity to share opinion and views is very welcome. There is so much behind the scenes to enable any surgery to be undertaken.

My personal experiences would go back more than 20 years for treatments at Causeway.

The many departmental staff throughout the hospital have co-ordinated my care for surgeries, treatments and all necessary cystoscopy appointments to ensure my bladder cancer was kept under control. Now, after the last 5 years of being clear the words ‘All Clear’ was like music to my ears. 

None of this would have happened without the expert team work within Causeway, for which I am very thankful and grateful. 

I have been very fortunate to receive 1st class treatment for my condition from Mr Fiala, Consultant Urologist, his Secretary Mrs Edgar and all the members of staff throughout Causeway Hospital over the years and I wish to record my personal thanks to everyone.

My recent surgery for another Urology condition was arranged and performed in the Day Procedure Unit at Causeway at the end of July 2025. 

Once again I experienced the professionalism, the dedication, the compassion and the care from everyone involved within the unit from the receptionist and throughout the department headed by Mr Fiala.

It may not be possible to convey my thanks and appreciation to each person on duty that day so collectively please pass on my best wishes and kind regards for the attention I received, before being discharged that evening.
