"Amazing staff who cared for my son"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a parent/guardian),

During a holiday stay at Craig Tara my son took a fall from around 15-foot and landed on the ground. He was taken by ambulance to hospital in Glasgow.

The three paramedics and all the hospital staff were amazing with both my son and myself. The care was outstanding.

Dear Emma90

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your son’s recent accident while on holiday at Craig Tara. We are so sorry to hear about what must have been a very frightening incident for you both, but very glad to know that he received the urgent care he needed.

We’re especially pleased to hear that the paramedics and hospital staff provided such outstanding support and care—not only for your son but for you as well. Emergencies involving children can be incredibly distressing, and our teams always strive to treat patients and families with compassion, professionalism, and reassurance during such difficult times.

Your kind words will be passed on to the ambulance service and the hospital teams involved in your son's care. It truly means a great deal to our staff to know their efforts are appreciated.

We hope your son is continuing to recover well and that you are both doing better after such a traumatic event.

Kind regards

Kevin

Glad to hear that he is recovering well from surgery Emma90. As my colleagues have mentioned this must have been quite a traumatic time for him and your family and nice to hear that he is on his way to a full recovery. If your son would like to share his own thoughts, he might enjoy using the Care Opinion bear, a friendly way for younger voices to tell us what they think. You can find out more at https://www.careopinion.org.uk/info/bear. There's absolutely no pressure, but if appropriate, it can be a healthy way for him to process the experience.

Warm wishes,

Marie
