I had chest pain for a couple of weeks, went to A&E, in turn on to the Urgent Care Unit for a CT scan.
Once into the treatment process I observed a really well set up and slick process throughout both departments. In particular, the Urgent Care Unit was like a well oiled machine, one I commented on in comparison to my workplace and if we could match this high standard then we’d make more money!
There were no lengthy waits, everybody had a job to do and were going about it with a sense of urgency and importance, from a glass of water to bloods to CT scan etc., and I was left with clear answers to all my questions, clear explanations of what happens now and next, and so attentive to make one of my worst frightening days so much easier to go through.
I’m extremely grateful for the staff and their patient-centric approach to each individual patient there.
Any frustrations I had were all about people complaining about wait times, the state of the NHS, their ungratefulness for the innovative new approaches since COVID to reduce wait times of ambulances and dedication of all the staff to treat everyone with dignity and respect, including those complaining to staff about the bigger picture NHS issues out of their control. What they can control is our treatment on that day, in that moment.
Hush people, complain to your local Councillors who can take your complaints to Government to be heard.
Thank you to all the staff treating me, you are awesome special people.
"You are awesome special people"
