I recently posted my story https://www.patientopinion.org.uk/opinions/134575 about the feelings engendered by the waiting list at the Neurology Unit. It is a story which now has a happy ending.
I was contacted by Emma, from the Patient Experience Team. She was kind, understanding and re-assuring. I felt that she really understood the stress and anxiety I was feeling. Importantly, she was also extremely helpful.
The result was that I went in for the cystoscopy yesterday. All the nurses and staff, from Porter to Consultant on Clarke Ward were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. They were completely patient focussed, kind - and lots of fun too. They worked as a cohesive team at all times and the managers at the hospital can be proud of this team.
Sincere thanks to Emma and to all the other people who listed to my complaint, took it seriously and acted upon it.
I am grateful to you all. Also thanks to Mr Evans the Consultant and James, the Anaesthetist for doing such a good job. I came round from the anaesthetic completely pain free and have been feeling great ever since.
