"Poor service"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I waited 14 hours to be seen after being advised to attend hospital immediately by my GP. I complained about the wait times only to be told someone was waiting for 16 hours

I feel this is an appalling way to treat service users

Dear David9153,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your recent visit to our Emergency Department at Wishaw. I’m truly sorry to hear that you faced an exceptionally long wait to be seen. I understand how distressing and frustrating that must have been, and I want to acknowledge the impact this may have had on you.

Our department has been under considerable pressure, which has unfortunately led to extended waiting times. Please know that this is not the standard of care we strive to provide, and we are actively working to improve our service.

I would really appreciate hearing more about your experience once you were seen by our team, as your feedback is invaluable in helping us identify areas for improvement.

I hope you are now recovering well and feeling better.

Best Wishes,
Julie.
