"Immediate expert care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a relative),

My dad was taken to Crosshouse ED after collapsing at home.

The department was obviously busy but my dad received immediate, expert care. Within a couple of hours, he’d been assessed, had two scans, and seen 2 specialist teams- the stroke team and the icu/anaesthetics team.

Knowing the constant pressure the department is under, I was amazed and grateful that the investigations and treatments were carried out so quickly. His care was so thorough. It’s amazing to have so many expert resources all there doing their best to save your loved one.

The staff in A+E are incredible. They work in some of the most difficult conditions with some of the most critically unwell patients in the hospital- and it is so amazing they have not lost their compassion or empathy. They were caring, kind and gentle with us, and made a very hard day a little easier. They are a credit to the nhs and we could all take a leaf from their book.

Thank you so much team ED, we will never forget your care and your compassion.

Dear LittleMP

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to this lovely feedback and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided within the Emergency Department, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I am sorry to hear that your dad needed to attend the hospital following a collapse at home, but it’s great to know that he received such prompt, professional and compassionate care from our staff. It is also reassuring to know that his tests, investigations and treatment were carried out quickly and efficiently.

When times are challenging, it’s always nice to hear such positive feedback from our patients and their relatives and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the Team in the Department.

Please accept my best wishes for your dad’s ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
