"Admitted to osprey ward"

About: Rotherham Swallownest Court Inpatient Unit / Osprey ward

(as the patient),

I was taken into hospital after a serious attempt on my life. I have had multiple attempts but thankfully never been successful. I felt helpless and as though there was no other solution than to end my life.

I feel listened to and understood by staff who have been attentive, friendly, helpful and caring. The cleanliness of the word and the food have also been good.

I felt there could have been more explanation of procedures, and more available to do to pass the time.

Hi jasrrs56,

Thank you so much for taking time to leave feedback about your time on Osprey ward.

So sorry to hear you were going through such a tough time but really pleased to hear you felt listened too and supported and found the staff caring and compassionate.

Thanks for highlighting the things you think we could do better- it’s so important for us to learn from your experience so we will look at how we can ensure we explain processes more clearly. It’s really good you raise having more things to do as this is something we have also identified and are currently working on an activity schedule for all our wards so that should be in place soon.

I hope you continue your recovery and thank you again for your feedback.

Sally
