My baby was born in April and I had the unfortunate circumstance of staying in the PRM for a month prior to their birth. I was on Ward 72 throughout that time for monitoring of my preeclampsia and there isn't enough words to express how excellent my care was.
I specifically have to acknowledge Emily, Allison, Alison, Lesley, Joanne and Claire. Each of these midwives were attentive, kind, caring and compassionate to my circumstances and my fear. They went out of their way to support me whenever and wherever they could throughout my endless BP monitoring, blood draws and tests. They knew I was frightened and anxious about my baby, and did everything they could to support my stay.
Even on the nights when the ward was incredibly busy, the attention I was given was not rushed but calm and collected. Each midwife always took their time to do my checks and answer any questions I had, particularly when things started going awry and I didn't understand what was happening. I also have to shout out HSW Sharon who was just incredible in her skill in keeping you calm and comforted.
Despite it being an anxiety filled experience due to my health, I can look back at my time on 72 with fondness thanks to the in-depth and person-centred care I received. Thank you all so much for your exemplary care.
