(as a relative),

Waiting for nearly 9 hours and still haven’t seen a doctor. My father came in with pains in his back, blood pressure ridiculous high he has had two observation done in triage but nothing from half 1 in the morning. Nearly 6 hours with no checking of his observation to see if his blood pressure is still high. People coming and going that are drunken and disorderly just my diabetic father is sitting here still waiting to see a Doctor

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we take all forms of feedback seriously and use this for learning and improvement. I apologise that your father had a negative experience and long waiting time in ED.

Our ED is consistently overcrowded and the main reason for the long waiting times is that we have such a large number of patients in our cubicles that are awaiting an inpatient bed on the wards. This leaves us with limited capacity to see new patients and we have to prioritise patients according to their acuity. We do however have a waiting room nurse who regularly checks observations on patients in the waiting room, so I am unsure why this did not happen, it may have been due to staff shortages but without the details of your fathers attendance I am unable to fully investigate.
