"She was exceptional"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I attended A/E department on Monday early August 2025. I arrived at approximately 8am and was greeted by a friendly and approachable receptionist.

I was called in quickly by the Triage nurse who was very helpful and reassuring. I was then taken in to begin investigating my difficulties. This was carried out thoroughly by a Clinical Special Nurse ( sorry I should have taken a note of her name).

She was exceptional. She listened carefully to me. She gave me pain relief and other medication immediately. She outlined what procedures would take place and they did happen over the next few hours. She had obviously read my previous history and had spoken to a Consultant at Altnagelvin.

I was given appropriate treatment/advice/medication and although I was still anxious she informed me to return to the department if I did not improve. I am writing to thank her especially for her kindness and empathic care through the hours I was in the department.

By the way the treatment was successful despite my anxiety. Thank you NHS
