"Excellent care having my baby"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

I wanted to let you know about my positive experience having a baby at Forth Valley Maternity Ward. From the moment my waters broke I was able to use the triage service where staff were professional, compassionate and made me feel listened to and confident. I even used the triage service when I came home which was really useful.

On the labour ward I had student Amy with me at all times. She was overseen by Mary her midwife but Amy was calm and reassuring and she really looked after me. Even though my labour ended in a C section staff listened to my concerns and acted on this. This made a huge difference to my recovery.

All the theatre staff were excellent and worked so well as a team, talking me through the process and explaining next steps again giving me confidence in the process. The anaesthetist even reminded us to take a photo to capture the moment. It's the small things that you often remember.

My journey continued at home where the community midwives offered great support in my first few weeks.

Thank you to all the staff that I met on my journey you were all amazing.
