I had the most amazing care. Everyone I came in contact with in ward 56 and theatre was kind and helpful. I always felt like the staff had time for me, and really cared about my welfare. My pain was managed well. My family felt welcome and supported.
A horrid experience made a lot less horrid by kindness.
The only downer was lack of veggie food. Not the staff’s fault, just seemed to be hard to get it reliably delivered.
Special mentions to - Tia, Zoya, Victoria, Megan, Mhairi, Caitlin, Rachel, Amanda, Emily, Emma, Carol
Tricia and Taylor.
Also to Dr Burton, Dr Siddiqui, CNS Nicola and Dr Paton.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind and thoughtful feedback following your recent stay on Ward 56 and in theatre. We are truly grateful to hear that your experience, despite being a difficult time, was made easier by the care and compassion shown by our team.
It’s incredibly heartening to know that you felt well looked after, listened to, and supported — not only by our clinical staff but also in how your family were welcomed and included. Managing pain effectively and ensuring patients feel safe and respected are key priorities for us, so I’m very pleased to hear this reflected in your experience.
We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties accessing vegetarian meals reliably. While, as you mentioned, this sits outside of the direct control of our ward staff, your comments will be passed on to the relevant team to help address this issue moving forward.
