"Occupational Therapy angels"

I have been struggling with mental health, anxiety and depression for a number of years due to various stressful situations with one in particular being the cancer diagnosis of my husband.  I attended all of the hospital visits, check ups, awaiting scan results whilst carrying on with a full-time (stressful at time with various mitigating factors) job but was trying to continue to be normal and strong when I wasn't in the least. 

This time last year is when I eventually asked for help from my Doctor after having a breakdown.  I was signed off work for a month and prescribed some antidepressants, mental health nurse and menopause help.  I managed to get through and seemed ok until the start of this year and I took a major breakdown and again signed off for a couple of months.

I was given great support by the doctor in checking up on me and then was told about Occupational Therapy and my angel in disguise came into my life by the name of Hayley.  I was totally out of my comfort zone but she listened to me completely and I couldn't believe how I started to feel a bit strong day by day.  She taught me how to be strong and in work, in particular, how to deal with certain issues that was mostly the root of my problems. 

My husband's cancer diagnosis I live with and will always support but Hayley made me realise that I need to look after myself as I was running on empty.  I had a number of sessions with her and due to funding we couldn't continue; not to say that the help won't be there if I ever need it again which is one of the only things that keeps me going in knowing that help is there...it is always there but asking for it is another issue but I am at moment in a different place thank you to my doctor and Hayley and Occupational Therapy angels.
