"My COPD and feeling like I mattered"

About: Community Respiratory Care / Community Respiratory Services (Craigavon and Banbridge) Community Respiratory Care / Pulmonary Rehab Hub (Craigavon and Banbridge)

(as the patient),

Since I was introduced to the Community Respiratory Service

I have had several visits from the respiratory nurses.

On each visit they check my oxygen reading and if necessary  do a blood gas check. Its not something I like but I have come to accept its part of my care.

I have also had a home pulmonary  rehab which has given me the  confidence to get  moving and do a little exercise.  Although the course is finished now. I am determined to hold on to what I have learned  and continue  to help myself live my best life with COPD.

I feel very lucky to have this great team  just a phone call away.   I would just like to express my gratitude  to each and every team member.

 Thank you

Hello Phyllis

Thankyou so much for taking the time to post this lovely feedback for the C&B Community Respiratory team. You are right the blood gases are not pleasant but as you say, are an essential part of the safe management of your respiratory condition and oxygen therapy. I am really proud of the team and all they do for our patients and it is really humbling to hear first hand they are doing a great job, they are definitely a dedicated and caring bunch of staff. It is our absolute pleasure to care for you and all our patients something we are very passionate about.

I am looking forward to passing your kind feedback onto the team.

Much appreciated

Anne-Marie Campbell
