I would like to thank all the fantastic midwives and health carers who looked after myself and baby J during our 2 stays at DRI.
Lauren did a fantastic job at supporting me throughout my planned c section and making us feel at ease with the whole process. All the supporting staff worked so hard to make sure myself and baby J were happy and healthy and comforted me whilst he faced some difficulties with his glucose.
Then, after going home for 1 day and being readmitted through triage, the midwife on the phone was so supportive and it felt like such a relief to finally be listened to about an ongoing health concern that got much worse postpartum.
On triage and on M1, the midwives were always there to keep my spirits up and answer any questions I had even though it was not something they usually dealt with.
A huge thank you to Carly, who also was my community midwife. To have a friendly face in those scary times completely put me at ease and I am so thankful I had you there to support me through the pain I was going through that evening on M1.
I'd also like to thank Nina, who honestly I don't think I could have got through those extra days in hospital without! Seeing you come to my door and tell me you were looking after me felt like a weight just lifted. Supporting me through my anxieties and tears and literally being my shoulder to cry on during my second surgery. I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for me, I will honestly never forget the kindness you showed me.
Thank you so much.
