"My husband was well looked after"

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My husband had a phone call  to ask him to visit the A&E department as his bloods showed he was severely dehydrated and his kidney function was a concern. I can’t praise the department enough.

From the reception staff , Health care assistants, nursing staff to the doctors. Although we had a 14 hour wait , my husband was seen in less than 5 minutes to take bloods, BP and have a cannula fitted. He was then transferred to an assessment side ward and he was checked regularly by the nursing staff on duty.

The hard work and dedication to their job was impressive. Under difficult circumstances (Ie ..footfall, drunken patients , inpatient patients ) they kept going with empathy, good manners and hard work. Credit where credit deserved.

People like to complain but never compliment. Well done .After being admitted and treated my husband came home well looked after. Thank you again
