"Amazing A&E staff after my son's injury"

About: Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

On Saturday I attended A&E with my young son after he sustained a minor burn to his hand. I was greeted by a lovely lady in reception who obtained our details quickly and efficiently and had such a calming nature.

We were seen within a short space of time by an amazing triage nurse. I can’t remember her name but she was amazing with my son. Helped to make him comfortable and made him smile.

We were then taken through to the minor ward within A&E and were met by a nurse named Mark. He instantly made my son feel comfortable and he had an amazing way with him making his experience fun and not in the slightest bit scary. He took his time explaining to him what he was doing and why.

He made such an effort to talk to him which was a great way to distract him from his injury. He took his time to fully explain everything to me and provided me with a helpful information leaflet. It was very refreshing to meet someone so kind and friendly.

The staff are an absolute credit to the Victoria Hospital.
