I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit to UCLH. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing healthcare experiences I have encountered.
While I fully understand that emergencies take priority, there appeared to be no structured queuing or triage system in place. Patients who arrived after me were seen before me without any explanation, causing significant confusion and frustration. I waited for hours simply to have a clinician assess whether I required a tetanus injection following a visible injury — a puncture wound on my neck caused by a drug user's nail. It is an injury that, in my view, clearly warrants urgent medical attention.
Despite politely explaining twice that I needed to return to work, my concerns were ignored. After waiting for over two hours with no resolution, I left the hospital without receiving treatment.
I am deeply disappointed by this experience, especially given the amount we pay in taxes to fund the NHS. It is disheartening to be treated with such disregard in a system that should prioritise timely and fair medical care.
This experience raises serious concerns about patient care and triage management at the hospital, and I hope this feedback will prompt a review of the current system in place.
