"Admission for major gyn surgery"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as a service user),

I had an arranged admission at the end of July at QEUH , ward 49. Prior to this I met with Julie at the Gynaecology Pre Op assessment unit. Julie was lovely and thoroughly explained everything to me. I felt less anxious after this appointment.

On the day of surgery I met many people. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and made me feel safe and at ease.

My surgery went as planned and I transferred to Recovery where I was taken care of by Callum . Again he was lovely , very kind and caring . From there I was transferred to Ward 49 .

From start to finish the care I received from everyone was exceptional. All members of the nursing team were very kind and always anticipated my needs and went above and beyond. No matter how busy they were , they always had time for me and the other patients in my room. Nothing was a bother .

My Consultant Dr Woldman explained everything to me before and after my surgery, she is so friendly and made me feel at ease.

Also to mention the food was delicious too .

Thank you to Carmine, Jordyn, Tami and Nicole . Apologies if I missed anyone.

Dear Mulberry,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience of care within Ward 49 at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

We are absolutely delighted to hear that your journey — from your pre-operative assessment with Julie, through to your surgery and recovery — was such a positive and reassuring one. It means a great deal to know that you felt safe, well cared for, and supported every step of the way.

Your kind words about Julie, Callum, Dr Woldman, Carmine, Jordyn, Tami, Nicole, and the wider team have been shared with them and recognised with appreciation. We are incredibly proud of our staff, and feedback like yours is both uplifting and affirming of their dedication and compassion.

We're also very pleased to hear you enjoyed the food — we know how important all aspects of comfort and care are to recovery.

On behalf of the entire Gynaecology team, thank you again for your thoughtful message. We wish you all the very best for your continued recovery.

Warm regards,

Nikki
