Suffering from High blood pressure, breathlessness since June 2025 followed by swelling of the right leg at the end of July I was referred to the Urgent Care Department (UCD) at Forth Valley Hospital by my GP at the end of July.
I was contacted by UCD after answering a few questions an appointment was confirmed for me within a few days.
At this appointment, my situation was investigated involving various tests and a follow up appointment was scheduled. This follow up appointment involved additional tests and a final consultation with UCD.
It's not the intention of going into detail on my ailment and tests conducted but to give praise to all the staff at UCD for their timeous, efficient, caring, and professional service that was provided. These two days resulted in the determination of my current ailment and the correct medication put in place.
Unfortunately, in took almost 2 months of primary health care treatment before my worsening condition was referred to Urgent Care. The level of service experienced at the UCD, in my opinion, should be the benchmark for all health care professionals.
