Over the last few years my husband and me have sadly had several miscarriages, requiring lots of scans, tests, a trip to theatre and many tears. We have been very well looked after throughout this time by the Maternity team, from admin staff, midwives, maternity care assistants, to the Consultant, Dr Maclean.
Our final pregnancy resulted in a positive outcome when our rainbow baby completed our family. Pregnancy after loss is a difficult road but we were given the best possible care which certainly made this time easier. We were confident in the standard of care we were given and knew it was never a problem to get a check for reassurance if required.
In sad times and happy times the midwives and the maternity care assistants were all amazing! Care was respectful, considerate, compassionate and we genuinely felt they were almost as invested in our journey as we were.
Dr Maclean was exceptional, we can’t imagine there is any consultant anywhere who is as dedicated to his patients as he is, being under his care made us feel safe and that meant everything!
During the birth itself I had to have a c-section. The theatre staff were all brilliant, a very caring and competent team who took great care of me and managed to keep my husband as relaxed as he could be with their positive and calm attitudes.
