My doctor carried out a thorough examination on me and then sent me to Pilgrim Hospital for an urgent precautionary referral which involved an ultrasound scan on my womb and ovaries to check that I didn’t have any underlying serious conditions. This involved two appointments, one for the scan itself and the second for a follow-up.
I was very nervous on both occasions, but particularly on the second one as you never know whether you are going to be the unlucky one.
When I went to the scan, the staff were very pleasant and explained in detail exactly what they were going to do and what I could expect. They put my mind at ease and I felt no discomfort during the procedure.
I then returned to the following week for the follow-up appointment. I felt extremely nervous about this but Stephanie and Hannah were absolutely wonderful. They were very kind and understanding, and they gave me very clear and precise information. I was very grateful to them.
Fortunately, for me there was nothing seriously wrong and I’m very thankful for that.
All in all, I received a very professional and caring experience from the NHS. Thank you to everyone involved in my care..
