"Great care following unexpected illness"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as a parent/guardian),

I was on holiday 2 hours away from home. My four year old unexpectedly took unwell overnight- high temperature and sore throat. Advice was given from my own GP to contact the local GP practice. This was Killin medical practice, half an hour away from where we are staying. The receptionist (apologies I have forgotten her name!)  was really helpful, she explained my daughter would need to be registered as a temporary resident. She spoke me through the process and put me at ease. We then got an appointment for a couple of hours later. We were seen by Jamie, advanced nurse. She was professional, caring and empathetic. She explained everything I needed to know and we left with a prescription. She was really good with my daughter. Everything was quick, prompt and much easier than I expected. It saved us from having to cut our holiday short! Thanks to them both for being so understanding and treating my daughter so quickly.
