"Pre-op for my son"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Pre Operative Assessment

(as a parent/guardian),

We were taken into the first room where the nurse took my son's height, weight, temperature and heart rate.

She was so lovely, kind and patient with my son who was a bit shy and fidgety at times (he's only 2). She talked to him and engaged him in his toys in order to do what she needed to do.

We were then taken straight to the charge nurse Steff who talked through the medical history and about what the procedure involved.

Again, very kind, patient and reassuring to talk to. Steff was great at explaining things and was very thorough.

The whole appointment lasted about 20mins which was great but at no point felt rushed.

Glad to have the appointment before the surgery just to have my son given the go ahead and to have questions and concerns addressed before the day.
