I have had problems with my lower legs for several weeks. Swollen and very sore with stabbing pains.
My doctor prescribed antibiotics and steroid cream for two weeks. It made no difference so I went back to the surgery where I was seen by a different doctor. She prescribed a stronger antibiotic and water tablets. After another week there was still no improvement.
I returned to see the doctor and she sent me to SDEC at Worcester hospital. I underwent several tests and it was decided that I had cellulitis and was put on an antibiotic drip. They told me that I would need the intravenous antibiotic and pain killers and water tablets for a week.
I was discharged to be under the care of hospital at home and nurses who would administer the drip. They came in each day to see to the drip and give general advice. The hospital at home girls were very kind, visiting and calling on the phone.
Everyone who came to me during my treatment were so kind, knowledgeable and sympathetic.
