I began taking my son to the Baby First Friends in Ashby. Everyone was in their own little groups and if a baby crawled out to interact with another outside of the group, they were pulled away. It felt a bit isolating and so I nearly considered to stop going all together.

I decided to go to the one on West Street (now Henderson Ave) to see how that group was before I made my decision.

When we arrived we were greeted by Zoey and Kira. They were really friendly and welcoming. All the staff involved in this group have been amazing. Everyone was happy interacting with everyone and allowing the babies to interact with one another. Every session has been so enjoyable and we always look forward to going as its a great way to start our week. I feel my son has learned so much from watching and interacting with others. He became so confident exploring about and interacting with everyone and everything.

Everyone at the west street/henderson ave group have made the BFF session a wonderful and unforgettable experience. They have been so friendly, supportive, engaging and encouraging. Zoe, Kira and Sarah are true gems.

Hi LozzaW, I am Amber one of the Team Leaders within the 0-19(25 SEND) service. I am really sorry to hear that you felt a little isolated in the Ashby group, this is not how we want anyone to feel so I will feedback to the nursery nurses and family support workers to ensure this does not continue to happen as we want it to be an inclusive group for all! I am however very pleased to see that you drew on your resilience and and tried the Henderson Avenue group and have had a much better experience.

Socialising babies from a young age is great for their development and we love to get adults together too to share stories; meet new people; support one another alongside our staff members whom attend. I have read this and shared with Sarah in the office just now and I will also share with Zoe. I will pass on a message to the family hub manager for Kira too.
