At the start I want to say I am in agreement with the principles behind the Recovery College but still want to stress that it will meet a different client group to those on the current day ward. In acute stages people are not always well enough to attend a more structured environment but need a safe supportive place to do until they are.
The way the closure of the day ward is being handled by management above ward level is having an adverse effect on my mental health. The its closing, its not it will run alongside the Recovery College to its closing end of March to no June sometime. If they can say one thing whilst doing another what service is safe? I know long term I will be well enough to manage my illness without the support of cmht but that time is not now and all this worry is making it seem even less so,
