"No water machine"

About: Paediatrics / Paediatric Outpatients

(as a parent/guardian),

My child needed to drink a lot of water for a wee test. There was no water machine and a member of staff had to take our water bottle to another ward to fill it up. Not major but a simple drinking water machine would have helped and allowed us to refresh our own water.

Dear Dry

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in Children’s Outpatients.

We are sorry there wasn’t a water machine available when your child needed to drink water for a test. We understand how important it is to have easy access to drinking water, especially in situations like this, and we appreciate you highlighting it.

We have a amazing team in Children's outpatients, it's great to hear that a member of staff was able to help by filling your bottle. We agree that having a water facility in the department would make things much easier for our families. We are currently looking into options for how we can introduce a suitable water facility in Children’s Outpatients to improve the experience for patients and visitors.

Thank you again for your helpful feedback

Kind Regards

Angela Giles
