"Main objection was having to travel"

About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as the patient),

I was asked to comment on the vaccine service at Wishaw hospital.

I found the reception ok, a temporary table was set up next to the reception desk to take vaccination patients. I was asked for my phone number which everyone in the queue heard (the desk wasn’t far inside the door so it was difficult for people in the queue to give you any privacy). My vaccination was given on time by a polite nurse.

My main objection was having to travel all the way from Biggar to Wishaw just for a vaccination when there is a local health centre in Biggar and even a designated vaccination centre in Lanark, which we passed on the way! The blood transfusion service managed to come to Biggar to take my blood, which must be more efficient/lower carbon/less traffic than everyone travelling to them, maybe a vaccination bus could do a similar thing if our local health centre isn’t able/allowed to do vaccinations?
