"First class professional treatment"

About: Helston Community Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit MIU

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had a severe allergic reaction to a wasp sting. The apparently new receptionist immediately saw that I was very concerned and arranged for my daughter to be assessed immediately by the reassuring Margaret (HCA)  and Vicky (I think that was her name) who was senior nurse practitioner. My daughter received first class professional treatment and sensitive care. Advice was sought from hospital doctors. Treatment was effective and good clear follow up advice given. We were in the unit a short 90 minutes. We arrived when the unit was quiet. and we left at later when it  was very busy!

This is an essential service (MIU) in a remote part of Cornwall. The care is professional and efficient. I feel that it wouldn't have been such such a good outcome or experience if we had had to attend a major hospital. Please keep this service! And a big thank you to all the staff in MIU Helston
