I am writing to express my gratitude and to provide feedback on the care l received from Nurse Practitioner Jillian in your A&E department at Ayr hospital.
I had broken my wrist on holiday in Yorkshire and received initial treatment including x-rays and discharge papers from another Hospital. I presented my discharge papers at Ayr A&E fully expecting a letter in a few weeks' time to attend the facture clinic.
Within 15 minutes l was being reviewed by Nurse Jillian . Her expertise on viewing the X-rays taken in England was immediately evident when she identified that the facture was more serious that initially assessed and correctly suspected l required surgery . On contacting Crosshouse Orthopaedic team it was confirmed her suspicion that surgery was necessary.
Thanks to Nurse Jillian I was admitted to Crosshouse the next morning and taken to theatre for surgery by 9.30am .
The level of care shown by Nurse Jillian was amazing. I cannot thank her enough for her exceptional skill, her proactive approach and kindness through her humour that she showed me. She made a significant positive difference to my outcome and experience during a very stressful situation. Jillian is an immense credit to Ayr Hospital and the NHS.
If you could please let Nurse Practitioner Jillian receive my feedback and to tell her how much l appreciated her helping me cope in that situation
"She made a significant positive difference to my outcome"
