"Great care breast screening unit Leighton Buzzard"

Want to say a big thank you the the mammographer at the breast screening unit today in Leighton Buzzard. Very nervous patient here due to some horrible and painful testing experienced over the past few years, notably a horrible Echo Cardio scan at MK hospital which was unbearably painful, and nothing was done to try to mitigate this, along with a truly painful outpatient hysteroscopy at MK hospital a few years ago. These experiences have affected my trust in the NHS to such a degree that I find it very difficult to go for tests or screening.

It was such a different story today, I told the mammographer about my past experiences and she was extremely gentle, explained what she was doing, and minimized the discomfort hugely, This story needs to be told, because the more positive experiences take place, the more women will put themselves forward to potentially life-saving screenings.
