"From my desperation came joy and love"

Arriving by cab and having no idea what to expect was unnerving and alien.  I had two hours to kill so went and had alcohol to calm myself.  I finally had the courage to knock on the door and was greeted by a lovely lady who made me feel at ease straight away as if I was booking into a hotel.

I was inducted into the centre and shown to my room where my bag was searched by a extremely kind and thoughtful man.  I unpacked, watched TV to unwind and given lunch in my room to ease my long journey to kick alcohol.  The room was extremely pleasant.

All  I can say is that the staff from the meetings to  medicine from meditation to doing there jobs was outstanding.  Even an amazing chef who catered for myself with food dislikes, you could say well that's their job but what stood out for me was the love and kindness I was shown through my entire stay.

My disappointment half way through my detox when I was let down by CGL and wanted to pack my bags and go home, only to have two staff members sing to me and from my desperation came joy and love which gave me strength to carry on.

You have an amazing team of professionals all around and I am very privileged to have been given the opportunity to have joined this centre.

As I leave, I have never felt stronger about myself and what the future holds for me.

But I can assure you not only have they changed me in such a beautiful and understanding way, I can also comment on my other friends recovering in here with me that we are all very blessed by the staff here at Dame Carole Detox Centre.
