We moved to Scotland (Stirling) from the South coast in England a year ago in March this year. Shortly after moving here, I contacted the health visitors and we were assigned a health visitor for my two young girls. Our lovely Health Visitor then passed our information straight onto the community nurses due to my older daughter being born with bladder exstrophy and would need medical support available.
In August, my daughter will be starting School and needs the community nurses to go in and do her catheters as well as train staff at the school. The community nurses couldn't have been more supportive, kind and caring.
Tracy has phoned me and emailed me on and off since us moving here. She attended a meeting in December at the nursery to be part of my daughter's support team. Tracy has then along with Ellen, come to our house at least once a week for the past few weeks to get to know our daughter and gain her trust to be able to carry out the intermittent catheterization. Both have been wonderful, friendly and so great with both my daughters. Tracy and Ellen have been so supportive of us as a family, reassuring me as a mother when I have become very anxious and worried. We can't thank them enough for all they are doing.
