I had a very good, in fact it was excellent, experience in NHS Fife at the National Orthopaedic Treatment Centre.
From pre admission to admission, surgery, recovery and aftercare through to discharge and follow up, the whole experience was efficient, friendly and very well informed.
I felt extremely well cared for and despite the numbers of people receiving the service , I was made to feel important.
It felt to me that I was being listened to and any ‘ issues ‘ I had were heard and resolved.
Each person I met made me feel part of the process and at no point did it feel daunting. The Pre-admission nursing team noted that I was a bit ‘freaked’ by a high blood pressure reading and contacted me more than once during the following week to ask about how I felt. When I phoned in a couple of times I was treated like a friend and each time the nurse seemed to know why I was calling.
All medical staff that I met were friendly and informative, encouraging and professional.
The whole experience was a happy one for me and I highly applaud Mr Rehman and the team.
"I was treated like a friend"
