"Ulster Hospital ICU"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My sister was admitted to ICU in May 2025, she sadly didn't make it but was able to donate organs giving the gift of life to others and potentially saving other families from the heartache my family now knows. As a family we would like all staff involved including paramedics and ED staff to be recognised for the amazing, compassionate care provided to her and the family. She spent most of her time in hospital in ICU, where the Nursing staff, Doctors and SNODs went over and above in supporting us through the most difficult times where hard decisions needed to be made. They helped make an unbearable situation easier and we will never forget their kindness. Each Nurse cared for her to the highest standards. We would love to name all of them but we feel a special mention for Hannah is important as she spent most of the time with us and was so attentive to everyone. Also Jane and Brooke who looked after her the day we said our goodbyes. From such a heart-breaking situation, we are able to think fondly of the staff and the exceptional care they showed our whole family. It gives us comfort to know they were by her side when we couldn't be.
