"Always greeting us with a warm smile"

Our child fell ill whilst we were away from home on holiday.

We were very anxious about being in an unfamiliar place with a poorly child however the care and support given by staff not only to our child, but to us as a family was outstanding.  

We have as a family unfortunately been in the position of having to experience hospital stays before in a different area of the country.  We can honestly say that other hospitals could learn a lot from this hospital in the support and care that it offers not just to the child but to the family as a whole.  This helped us massively to deal with the whole process of having a child ill in hospital in unfamiliar surroundings.

We were also impressed with how clean and calming the hospital was. The building looks well cared for, and we love the artwork on display, as that helped to calm frazzled parents who needed a break from being on the ward.

Your staff from the cleaners up to the consultants were all so lovely and friendly, always greeting us with a warm smile, asking how we were and if we needed anything.  We were also impressed that they took time to talk to our child and to explain things, so that they too understood what was going on with regard to their treatment.

Thank you very much for showing us that it is possible to be a hospital that goes above and beyond in providing support and care, and that it doesn’t have to be an experience to dread.
