We were told last year that the acute day ward would be closing and replaced by Recovery College. Then 4d later we were told that it would run alongside the college. Last week we were told the day ward would close on the 31st March with the Recovery College opening on the 1 s April whilst yesterday we were told it would be in June. In the interim staff have moved to other jobs and not been replaced or have been moved within the service leaving one experienced but unqualified staff member to run the ward until the day. Anyone raising issues seem to have been told both orally and in written form different reasons for the run down of the area whilst maintaining that the day ward would not close. This has left me in a very vulnerable state of mental health as I feel I can not trust managers not to remove other forms of support from me without any consultation. the staff providing the care have all been brilliant. I am not against the Recovery college only that it can not replace the day ward as it meets different needs.
