"Nobody there to help us"

About: Outpatients Services / Level 9 Critical Care

(as the patient),

I was attending the Royal Victoria for an outpatients appointment, the car parking was great and I was able to get a space with ease. 

I arrived into the main reception and the place was chaotic, I was unable to get help to get to my appointment location as the main desk was closed all day. There were many people including myself looking for help but nobody there that could help us. Some people required wheelchairs and could get these for their loved ones. 

It is so annoying as I was late for my appointment but gladly was seen.

My name is Clare Forsythe and I am the Patient and Client Experience Manager in the Belfast Trust, and manager the reception team in the main reception area at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience in the main reception and that you were unable to get help to your appointment location as the main desk was closed. This is not the type of experience I would like yourself or anyone else to experience.

If you are happy to advise me of the date and time you were at the Royal it would be very helpful.

I would like to look into this as staff have been allocated to the reception desk each day from 8am until 8pm.
