"Suffered from a lack of care"

About: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust / Stamford unit

(as a relative),

My Mum was recently a patient of this unit. Over the 4 weeks she was there I feel that she suffered from a lack of care. On numerous occasions her request for a bed pan took so long she ended up wetting the bed, and was then told off by the staff because they would now need to change the sheets etc.

There was a lack of physiotherapy so during her time there has not made any progress with her mobility 

She had since been admitted back to a medical ward with UTI and chest infection. Appalling situation

I am sorry to hear about your mum’s experience while on the Stamford Unit. The experience you describe does not reflect the standards of care we aim to provide, nor does it reflect the Trusts Values and Behaviours.

I appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention as this enables us to share learning with the teams and improve our services.

Please be assured that your feedback has been reviewed and shared with the leadership team for the department. The leadership team will then ensure that all staff are made aware of the feedback that has been received.

I would like to thank you for raising your concerns, as an organisation we use all patient feedback to support learning and for continuous improvement.
