"Listened to and hopeful for the future"

About: Neurodiversity Services / Rotherham ADHD team

(as a service user),

I've spoken to a few people in the mental health side of the NHS, about a variety of things, anxiety, therapy and now ADHD. This is hands down the first time I truly felt I was listened to and not just maneuvered out of the door with a therapy appointment and a "good luck". Ocean listened to my hopes for treatment, to feelings of being let down in the past by other care providers, how I'd like to proceed and why - then confirmed we could do that.

I was allowed to fully explain myself, I was allowed to go off on tangents and "talk around the houses'. Get everything out so I could feel like I had adequately represented my POV and my experiences in life (literally from birth onwards haha) - this can feel like a once in a life time opportunity for people with ADHD that have a similar way of conveying Information. This felt so satisfying for someone to sit through that and agree at the end with what I was looking for, and how I was looking for help. I am hopeful for the future.
